Cathie Wood's ARK ETFs gaining investor interest
There are lots of Wall Street whales, but Cathie Wood's ARK ETF family is gaining a lot of traction in the whale watching community of traders and investors
Want to profit from insider stock trading? There's a way. But you have to follow the right whales, traders and investors. You will never hear their names in the news. They may not be famous. But they have billions of dollars underneath their control, and when they make changes to their portfolios, money can be made.
Following the Wall Street giants is an old school strategy to making money in the stock market. Why try and beat the market when you can mimic the moves of these guys? The problem is that it's hard work. It takes a lot of time to watch daily moves in stocks and public filings in an attempt to track the whales. So, instead of spending hours playing Alphaville detective, let me save you some time here at Whale Watcher by telling you what I believe will be big moves tomorrow that you can jump on today.
ARK’s Cathie Wood is probably one of the most famous investors on Twitter. Her daily purchase activity has resulted in the creation of the term “Wall Street Whales” due to how large her positions are. In my opinion, she’s one of the leading experts in stock market investing and is a great source of information if you want to get more insight into what big-time investors are buying and selling stocks.
Wood's work in this field has spawned something of an online subculture, as hedge funds and other big-money investors create their own databases to keep track of the stocks and options they have bought and sold. A basement full of Bloomberg terminals used to be the price of entry for having the ability to monitor a stock portfolio in this way, but now anyone with a few thousand dollars can recreate the same functionality in software. Using this sort of tool, analysts can follow along as major investors move their money around, perhaps being alerted to changes in everyone's accumulators before it becomes news.
We've followed ARK's portfolio managers as they have traded around positions in AquaBounty, NanoString, Paccar, Regeneron, Tencent, Pinterest, and many other positions. Subscribe to our newsletter today to stay tuned for more frequent updates on ARK's positioning, deep dives into specific companies in the portfolio, and other actionable trading insights. Over time, we will track other whales too!
